Sethu and Lutha chose to wed on the first day of Spring. Sethu prepared at her family home, where she grew up in the picturesque and peaceful village of Qaga, in the Eastern Cape. Sethu is loving and kind, gentle yet strong and loved by so many. Lutha says that he isn’t much of a romantic, but loves the feeling of LOVE, loving and being loved by that someone special and when he looks at his beautiful Sethu, his face lights up every time. They met in February 2014 in Church. They were seated next to each other and a conversation ensued… one of many to follow. They felt an instant connection and met the following Sunday in the same spot! Two years later, their love intensified and Lutha felt serious “love vibes” and felt it was finally time to pop the question. He had no idea how to approach this, because in his culture, he has to first consult with the elders. He and Sethu went for a picnic and chatted about the weather (whilst building up the courage to propose) and finally they spoke about what their future and his intentions. He admits that his nerves were killing him and his heart was pounding so hard that he could literally hear it beating in his chest. In his words, he had to “man up” and blurted: “I want to send my uncles to your home.” There was a deafening silence… even the birds above stopped chirping and looked down at him as if to say “Madliki Uthini?” Sethu looked at Lutha with an odd gaze and he thought to himself “Oh Lord, what have I just done?” But Sethu’s smile and sheer excitement was priceless as she gladly accepted…It was the best moment ever and a kiss sealed the deal.
